What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation and promotion of healing in which the Reiki practitioner channels the energy for the client. The word Reiki is composed of two parts: Rei, and Ki. Rei means universally guided and Ki is the life force energy that animates all living beings (similar to Chi in Chinese or Prana in Sanskrit). When the two are combined, Reiki means universally guided life force energy.
We all have intuition and inner knowing. We all have the ability to tap into this universal source of energy. Reiki helps to clear negative energies stored within the mind, body, and spirit. Anxiety, trauma, stress due to, well….life- all that heavy stuff can accumulate in the body, mind, and soul.
In a Reiki session, the practitioner channels universal life force energy to the client. The energy intuitively flows to the areas where it is most needed, addressing low energy levels and blockages, and helping to restore balance. Clients often feel increased mental, physical, and spiritual well-being.
Reiki Is Empowering! This is something I hear in my mind often. Tapping into this energy empowers the receiver to start healing themselves on a soul level, get in touch with their higher self, and find their flow state!
Reiki is practiced worldwide, including in hospitals, addiction treatment centers, and hospice care, where it supports and complements conventional health treatments and therapies.
Reiki is considered an alternative, complementary approach and does not replace the need for traditional medical care through your physician or licensed professional. You should not stop, add, or change any medication or traditional treatment, without the advice, consent, and direction of your physician.

What to Expect
Here’s a glimpse of what to expect during a Reiki session to help you feel prepared and at ease.
In-Person Reiki Sessions:
These will either take place in my home Reiki room in Quinton or at your home. No matter the setting, Reiki invites you into a realm of deep relaxation and healing. You will lie fully clothed on a massage table or in a chair, whichever way you are comfortable. It’s a gentle and nurturing practice that offers a respite from the busyness of life, allowing you to reconnect with your inner calm and balance.
We will talk about your goals for the session and I will answer any questions you may have.
During the session, you may feel a warm, tingling sensation or a sense of deep relaxation and peace. Some people experience a gentle flow of energy, while others may feel light and serene. Reiki rebalances you on all levels, so different emotions and feelings may come to your awareness during a session. It's a unique experience for each person, and you are encouraged to simply allow yourself to relax and receive whatever comes your way.
At the end of the session, we will chat again, sharing any observations or insights that may have come up.
During sessions, I often include candles, essential oils, smudging tools, and crystals.
Remote Reiki Sessions:
How we have the session will be up to you. We can connect over video call, a phone call or simply by synchonizing times. It isn’t required, but it is helpful for you to send me a picture of yourself to help in my channeling of Reiki to you. You’ll choose a quiet, comfortable space in your home where you can relax without interruptions.
As with in-person sessions, you might feel a gentle warmth, a sense of calm, or subtle shifts in your energy. Some people feel sensations similar to a light touch or warmth even though the practitioner is not physically there. It’s a deeply personal experience, and you are encouraged to relax and remain open to whatever you experience.
Following the session we will have a chance to talk about your experience and anything that may have come up.
Regardless of where and how the Reiki session is conducted, the goal is for you to feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
After a session, it is important to drink plenty of water and remember to allow yourself to feel whatever comes up. It’s also a great idea to jot down any feelings or observations you’re having afterward.
